M Stage. Creature Effects Designer Neill Gorton with actor Anthony Venditti as Morgo on the episode “Flash”. Animaltronics within the Morgo head mask are operated by Neill using a remote control device.

M Stage. Actor Anthony Venditti without the Morgo head mask on. Note the shoulder and head frame he wears to help support the weight of the mask. Also, the large alien hand the actor wears as a glove over his own hand. Behind him is actress Leigh Tinkler as Pola, a Creon. The masks are worn in two parts. A chin piece, and a the Creon headpiece which can be easily be lifted off and on.

FX Stage. The converted VW Beetle model suspended before some Demeter City model buildings. A large selection of buildings were made, so they could be set up in various configurations depending on the set required.

FX Stage. A Demeter City set. Note the carousel hanging from the studio ceiling. Devised by FX Director Steve Begg, model vehicles can be hung from it and when rotated give the impression of flying cars in flight.

Model Workshop. This is Christine Glanville, who has worked with Gerry Anderson since his early puppet series in the 1950’s. Primarily as a puppeteer, but also as a puppet maker. On Space Precinct, as well as making alien head masks, Christine was also an animatronics operator who operated the Captain Podly mask and eyes. Jerome Willis is on record as noting that Christine was an integral part of his portrayal of Podly.
